Looks like the lax bros these days are laying down their lacrosse sticks in favor of something with a little more firepower. In college quads in the south, camouflage is replacing Kelly green as the prepsters color of choice. K. Cooper Ray, the Charleston, S.C.-based blogger of all things gentlemanly, saw local college kids “polished and groomed and bow-tied and then they turn around and they’ve got their camo on and shotguns over their shoulder, heading off to the marshes of the low country to go duck hunting.” For his third Social Primer for Brooks Brothers accessory collection, Cooper tips his hunting cap to these rustic dandies who proudly refer to themselves as “Prep-necks.” Intrigued by these seemingly opposing ideas of masculinity, Cooper combined a green camouflage print with a “Palm Beach pink” repp stripe for his reversible bow tie, just one of a collection of ties, key fobs and pocket squares available at Brooks Brothers stores nationwide. Show Mom she’s got style: It List

Dare2Care benefit on Sunday, May 1 will take on teen bullying

Aquage, a hair-care company based in Chagrin Falls, will team with local boutiques, models, students and artists Sunday, May 1 for a night of fashion and performance art to support bullied teens.

Dare2Care — Unite Against Bullying HRC Fashion Gala, which will be at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse, is a collaboration of Aquage, the Human Rights Campaign and The Trevor Project, a suicide hot line for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender teens.

The evening starts with a VIP reception at 6 p.m.

Hero Worship

This summer is shaping up to be Marvelpalooza with the impending big-screen releases of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger (both of which already have sequels in the works). The drop-in-the-bucket precursor to the comics onslaught is a super-powered T-shirt team-up with the venerable street-wear brand Stussy.

A series of shirts featuring vintage Marvel icons will be released on April 30. Then, on May 7, comes a series of limited-edition tees featuring artists takes on their favorite Marvel hero or villain.
